Local brothers headed to Nashville

Skyline Drive, a local country music duo consisting of brothers Luc and Ross Christensen of Spring City, are headed to Nashville to compete in the 35th Country Music Showdown. Skyline Drive won the Utah competition at the State Fair in September, then advanced to the regional competition held in New Mexico in October. They will compete against the four other regional winners for the title of “Best New Act in Country Music” on national television later this year.

Luc and Ross are currently attending Snow College where they are majoring in music. Ross is also the band teacher at North Sanpete Middle School. The brothers have performed locally at Malena’s Restaurant in Ephraim and the Spring City Diner.

Billed as the largest country music talent search in the nation, past Showdown contestants include Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks and Sara Evans. The winner of the competition will receive national recognition and a prize package valued at over $100,000.
