(Grand Blanc, MI) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a statement following yesterday’s violent attack at its Michigan chapel. Spokesperson Doug Andersen called the shooting a “tragic act of violence” and says the church is cooperating with local authorities and is in contact with emergency responders assisting victims and families. Andersen said the church is grateful for the global outpouring of prayers and support and emphasized that places of worship are meant to be sanctuaries for peace, prayer, and connection.
