Lawmakers Vying For Leadership Position In Utah House

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Several Utah lawmakers are making a run for an open leadership position in the state House of Representatives. Republican state Representative Val Peterson has told colleagues that he is not running for re-election to the post of House majority assistant whip. At least four Republicans are now lobbying colleagues for support to take Peterson’s role. Elections for leadership positions in the Utah Legislature will be held in November following statewide elections.
