(Salt Lake City, UT) – A Utah legislative committee is considering a bill that would offer residents and businesses a 160-million dollar income tax cut. The Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee on Wednesday took public comment on Senate Bill 69 which would lower Utah’s individual and corporate income tax rate from four-point-six-five percent to four-point-five-five percent. Logan Republican Senator Chris Wilson says his bill finishes work begun last year and would help keep the state competitive. The committee voted seven to one to send the bill to the full Senate.
