(Salt Lake City, UT) — A Utah judge has granted a Planned Parenthood request to delay the implementation of a law blocking all elective abortions in the state. The Planned Parenthood Association of Utah calls the preliminary injunction a “breath of fresh air” that allows Utah women the right to determine their own pregnancies. A state lawmaker who sponsored the trigger law in 2020 criticized the decision. Representative Karianne Lisonbee said the judge did not consider the rights of the unborn in deciding to keep the law from going into effect.
