Just before 9:00 p.m. on Dec. 17, a 39-year-old male inmate was found unresponsive in the Millard County Jail. CPR was immediately initiated and EMS arrived, continuing life saving efforts while transporting him to the Fillmore Community Hospital. At the hospital, lifesaving efforts were continued, but the subject passed away. According to a press release from the Millard County Sheriff’s Office, “per standard protocol, a request has been made for an outside agency to investigate the matter. The Iron-Garfield-Beaver-Kane Critical Incident Task Force will conduct this independent investigation.” The inmate’s name has not been released at this time pending the notification of extended family members.
