Individual Arrested In Mayfield For Rape Of A Child

Around 7:00 a.m. on Aug. 28, Richfield City Police Department, assisted by the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Office and the Utah Department of Public Safety’s Special Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence located in Mayfield. RCPD had obtained an arrest warrant for an adult male subject at the residence after a lengthy ongoing investigation for crimes that occurred in Sevier County. Upon arrival the suspect was taken into custody without incident and was then transported to the Sevier County Jail where he was booked on 13 charges: Four counts of object rape of a child, three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, one count of rape of a child, two counts of forcible sexual abuse and three counts of sodomy on a child. The suspect is being held without bail. According to a press release from the RCPD “his name is not being released due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation and in order to protect the integrity of the victims involved.”
