ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — The family of a baby who was abused at 9-months-old says the boy has suffered serious physical harm since the incident.
The Spectrum reported Monday (http://bit.ly/2jn2mdn ) that 25-year-old Dakota Ross Woolsey, of Hurricane, has pleaded guilty to felony counts of child abuse and aggravated assault for choking and kicking his girlfriend’s baby.
At a hearing Monday, the victim’s grandmother said she hasn’t been able to see her grandchildren since the initial incident, which occurred Sept. 27. She said the boy suffered extensive physical and mental abuse due to Woolsey’s actions.
According to court documents, Woolsey was living with his girlfriend, the baby’s mother, when the incident occurred. She left the baby and her 3-year-old son with Woolsey when the abuse occurred.
Sentencing has been set for Feb. 13.
