House Committee Approves Bill To Eliminate Accountability Grades

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah lawmakers are moving closer to eliminating the use of letter grades to assess public schools in the state. House Bill 308 unanimously passed the House Education Committee yesterday. Letter grades for schools have been criticized as unnecessary and ineffective by supporters of the bill, including the state school board and the Utah Education Association.
