Hiker Rescued After Flash Flood In Kane County

(Kane County, UT) — A hiker was rescued Saturday after being caught in a flash flood in Kane County. Authorities say the hiker was swept 300 feet downstream in Hurricane Wash near Hole in the Rock Road and climbed a tree to escape rising waters. He sustained minor injuries and was airlifted for evaluation, while his companion was unharmed. The flood also damaged roads and stranded seven vehicles, which deputies and Search and Rescue personnel helped safely return to the highway. Authorities urged hikers to stay prepared when in remote areas.
