Governor Signs Bill To End Vehicle Inspections

(St. George, UT)  –  Starting next year, you won’t have to get a safety inspection on your vehicle for the registration renewal.  Governor Herbert signed a bill Saturday ending the practice, which supporters say will save Utahans tens of millions of dollars a year.  Opponents of the legislation said it made the roads safer to have cars checked to ensure they were safe.  Emissions tests on cars are still required every other year. Â
