(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah Governor Spencer Cox delivered his 2026 State of the State address at the Capitol last night, outlining key priorities for the coming year. Cox highlighted efforts to implement the 582 bills passed during the 2025 legislative session and set goals including improving early childhood literacy, cracking down on fentanyl trafficking while expanding treatment, and addressing homelessness by discouraging street camping while increasing access to services. He also called for stronger accountability for social media companies, saying the state should set guardrails around addictive algorithms without policing free thought.
