Four fire departments respond to barn fire in Nephi

A barn fire in Nephi is finally out after firefighters battled the blaze for two hours Tuesday and a half an hour early Wednesday morning.

The owner of the barn had been welding, with a hose near by, but was unable to contain the fire himself, which started from some sparks.

Nephi, Levan, Mona, and Rocky Ridge fire departments all responded to the fire.

Chief Deputy Al Taylor says “it was a huge fire” by the time he arrived on scene.

A pony, two cows and three dogs were all lost in the blaze.
