Kids excited for their first day of school in Delta will have to wait a little bit longer. On Aug. 17, Delta received a large amount of rain, causing flooding, some of which damaged schools.

In a post to their Facebook Page on Aug. 18, the Millard School District confirmed that they were cancelling school for that day, which would have been the first day of school.

It was also shared that school would resume the next day, Aug. 19.
