(Parowan, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox is talking up the benefits of education in southern Utah. Cox visited Parowan High School yesterday as part of his “Connecting Utah Tour,” calling education “the key to successful futures.” He argued degrees are certainly helpful but all students need skills to land a good career after school. Cox also noted legislation passed this year to pay teachers and hopes some students will move into the profession. Cox’s tour is part of an effort to visit at least one school in all of Utah’s counties this year.
