Cox Unveils Biggest-Ever Utah Budget

(West Haven, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox on Tuesday unveiled the biggest state budget proposal in Utah’s history. The spending plan totals 29-and-a-half billion dollars. Cox wants the state to spend some of that money on making child care more accessible and expanding affordable housing, including 35-thousand starter homes. The budget doesn’t include any suggested tax cuts, after he approved nearly a billion dollars in tax cuts over the past three years. During a news conference in West Haven, Cox described his budget proposal as very balanced, very conservative, and very responsible.
