(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox has signed a controversial abortion bill. On Wednesday, Cox signed off on legislation that will ban all clinics from providing abortions in Utah starting as early as May 3rd. The bill will also impose other abortion restrictions if the state’s trigger ban is held up in court. The state will stop issuing and renewing licenses for abortion clinics beginning May 2nd, and will completely outlaw abortion clinics in January of 2024.
