(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Cox says he is willing to explore the idea of eliminating fares on all public transit in Utah. The governor said yesterday that no-cost bus and train service could help Utahn combat high gas prices. He said he’s willing to finance the idea for three to six months to give lawmakers more data. Cox said eliminating fares on public transit would cost the state about three-million dollars a month.
