(Cedar City, UT) — A trio of students is now scheduled to speak at Southern Utah University’s commencement ceremony later this month. The Cedar City school says the three students will replace Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints apostle Jeffrey Holland because of ill health. Holland was also relieved of church assignments last week for at least two months because of impacts from COVID. His scheduled speech at SUU drew criticism from the LGBTQ community but school officials held steady on his appearance until the news of his illness.
