Iron County Delays Data Center Projects

(Cedar City, UT) — Iron County leaders are delaying several proposed data center and power generation projects near Cedar City. County commissioners voted to pause the projects for up to 180 days while officials develop new regulations and temporarily stop new applications tied to similar developments. KUTV reports the proposed projects have sparked concerns from residents over water use, power demand, air quality and long-term environmental impacts. Officials say the county’s planning commission is expected to continue reviewing the proposals during a meeting scheduled for June 4th
