(Bryce Canyon, UT) — A 12-year-old tabby cat named Mirage survived a nearly 400-foot fall off a Bryce Canyon cliff that claimed the lives of two hikers. Authorities say the cat was found in a carrier next to the bodies of Matthew Nannen and Bailee Crane who fell to their deaths after going over the railing at Inspiration Point. Despite the fall, Mirage was in relatively good condition. After being transported to Best Friends Animal Society, the cat showed signs of being alert and friendly, with normal bloodwork. X-rays are pending to check for internal injuries.
