(St. George, UT) — A bill focused on managing the Scenic Byways of Utah received a major change. After debating the bill on Monday, the bill has been altered to not give a seat on a new committee to someone in the advertising industry. Those who oppose the bill say that lobbyists still can play a big role in affecting decisions by staying active in the senate that must approve committee decisions. Others, like former Utah state representative and former Salt Lake City mayor Ralph Becker believe it takes too much control away from the local governments.
