Almost three years after her death, Kammy Mae Edmunds killer is going to prison. Anthony Jeffrey Christensen pleaded guilty to her murder in January, and Wednesday, following impassioned statements by Kammy’s family, he was sentenced to five years to life on the first-degree murder charge, and 1 to 15 years on an obstruction of justice charge connected to the crime. Judge Marvin Bagley said the sentences will run concurrent with each other, and concurrent with a second five year to life sentence imposed following a jury trial that found him guilty of assault by a prisoner and being a habitual violent offender. Because of Christensen’s lengthy and violent record, Sanpete County Attorney Kevin Daniels said he intends to write the parole board and express his desire that Christensen spend the rest of his life behind bars so he will never be able to hurt another person.
