(Salt Lake City, UT) — A sixth Republican has joined the crowded field for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by GOP Senator Mitt Romney, who will retire when his term ends in 2025. Carolyn Phippen, a former staffer for Senator Mike Lee, launched her campaign for the GOP nomination yesterday. Phippen would make history if she were to win the Republican nomination and the Senate seat. Utah has never elected a woman to the U.S. Senate.
