Russell M Nelson, the 100-year-old Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, dedicated the faiths 200th temple over the weekend. The Deseret Peak Temple, located in Tooele, was dedicated in an afternoon session on Nov. 10. President Nelson shared, “when I was born, there were just six operating temples in the Church…it took the Church until the year 2,000 to dedicate the first 100 temples, and now, just 24 years later, we are dedicating the second 100.” There are 367 temples in operation, under construction or announced around the world, and 31 in Utah.
