The Gunnison Valley Police Department has made an arrest in the Lindsey Pearson missing case and others are expected to be charged.
Following an investigation by multiple agencies further details were given into the disappearance and then location of Pearson.
According to a release from the Gunnison Valley Police Department the 17-year-old Pearson got off work Thursday night and went to the LDS seminary building next to the campus of Gunnison Valley High School. She connected to the seminary building Wifi and used a mobile app to make a call.
From there police believe she rode to the high school football field and met with adult suspects, ditched her bike and left the area with the adult suspects. Police are still investigating who the call was to and who the conspirators are in the case; but the report says they have identified several suspects complicit in taking Pearson out of the area and away from her custodial parent who lives in Centerfield.
The report states that the Gunnison Valley Police Department with other local and federal agencies were able to navigate the complicated scheme the conspirators concocted to take Lindsey and “attempt to hide her out” in Cedar City.
The investigation led to Beaver first where GVPD made an arrest, with the name currently being withheld, before continuing on to Cedar.
The report states that the Cedar City Police Department felt there was a conflict of interest so they asked the Southern Utah University Police Department to assist in the matter.
Officers from the SUUPD found Pearson safe at an off campus apartment in Cedar City.
FBI agents spoke to Pearson before GVPD officers arrived and once they did they returned Pearson to the Gunnison Valley.
The individual arrested in Beaver was booked into the Sanpete County Jail and the release from the GVPD officers will be staffing further multiple charges on multiple persons with the Sanpete County Attorney’s Office.
