It was another successful fundraiser for Sanpete Search and Rescue as they took over KMTI-AM and FM on April Fool’s Day and peppered the airwaves with on-air banter, prize giveaways and jokes. The day is a major source of funding for the Search and Rescue and always a favorite with listeners. Members of the Posse manned the microphone for over nine hours and raised over $30,000 with pledges from businesses and individuals, as well as on-air auctions and giveaways. Sanpete Search and Rescue has been serving for 51 years and is a Not for Profit organization with 40 members serving all of Sanpete County as well as the rest of Utah when called upon. They average over 30 call outs a year ranging from missing persons to body recovery.
