Weber State Men’s Basketball’s Dillon Jones Named Finalist For Freshman of the Year Award

OGDEN, Utah-In news released Thursday, Weber State freshman Dillon Jones was named a finalist for the Kyle Macy Award from collegeinsider.com. This award is annually granted unto the nation’s top freshman.

Jones, a native of Columbia, S.C., posted 8.2 points and a team-best 5.8 rebounds for the Wildcats.

He was one of 30 players across the nation named to the Macy Freshman All-American Team.

The recipient of the 2021 award will be announced April 1.

Jones is the Big Sky Freshman of the Year, becoming only the eighth Wildcat all-time to receive this honor.

He helped the Wildcats to a 17-6 record and a tie for second place in the Big Sky Conference.
