Richfield Ranger District plans to burn 500 acres near Annabella Reservoir, as part of the Monroe Mountain Aspen Ecosystems Restoration Project, located in Sevier County and approximately five miles east of Annabella.

The Fishlake National Forest plans to take advantage of the current site conditions and utilize patches of snow and moisture found at higher elevations to limit fire spread outside of the project area. Additional moisture is forecasted for this coming weekend. Prior to the next storm system, increased winds are forecasted, where personnel are planning to use these winds to help create the fire behavior required to meet resource objectives.

Personnel and engines from Central Utah along with one Type 1 helicopter will be on site to assist as needed.
