Utah woman tied up, beaten by boyfriend for 3 days

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah police say a weekend camping trip turned violent when a woman was repeatedly beaten by her boyfriend and tied up in a blanket held together by duct tape.
Summit County Sheriff Justin Martinez said Wednesday the alleged events took place near Dinosaur National Monument on the Utah-Colorado border. He says the woman called police early Monday morning after she escaped a bedroom at the suspect’s house near Park City where they had returned.
The 47-year-old Jason Stone was arrested Monday on suspicion of kidnapping, assault, witness tampering and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Martinez says the woman appeared to have facial fractures after enduring a consistent barrage of beatings.
Stone was also arrested on suspicion of domestic violence assault in April.
His attorney for that case, John K. Johnson, declined comment.
