BYU Receiver Dax Milne Added To Biletnikoff Watch List

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-In news updated Tuesday morning, BYU junior receiver Dax Milne was added to the 2020 Biletnikoff Award Watch List by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation.

Milne’s teammate, junior receiver Gunner Romney, was added October 14.

This award annually honors the college football season’s outstanding FBS receiver.

Any player who catches a pass is eligible for this award.

Milne, a former Bingham High School star out of South Jordan, Utah, leads the Cougars with 37 receptions for 639 yards (No. 4 nationally) and five touchdowns (tied for No. 10 nationally with NC State senior tight end Cary Angeline, Louisville junior receiver Tutu Atwell, Memphis junior receiver Calvin Austin, Temple junior receiver Jadan Blue, Arkansas State senior receiver Dahu Green, Georgia State sophomore receiver Sam Pinckney, Southern Methodist senior receiver Reggie Roberson Jr. and Clemson senior receiver Amari Rodgers).

Only two BYU receivers have exceeded Milne’s 639 yards through the first six games of a season: Eric Drage (748 yards, 1992) and Austin Collie (673 yards, 2008).

The award is named in honor of Fred Biletnikoff, a 1964 All-American at Florida State, who amassed 100 receptions for 1,655 yards and 20 touchdowns for the Florida State Seminoles.

Biletnikoff was drafted by the AFL’s Oakland Raiders and the NFL’s Detroit Lions in 1965.

Opting to play for the Raiders, Biletnikoff hauled in 589 passes for 8,974 yards (15.2 yards per reception) and 76 scores from 1965-1978.

Biletnikoff then played for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in 1980. Biletnikoff posted 38 receptions for 470 yards (12.4 yards per grab) and four scores for an 8-8 Montreal squad that season.

Biletnikoff is a 1988 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame at Canton, Ohio.
