Pro-police rally held before Utah protest calling for reform

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (AP) — Two opposing groups have rallied in the Salt Lake City suburb of Cottonwood Heights, one calling for police reform and the other voicing support for law enforcement. KUTV reports there were some verbal arguments Monday night, but the evening was largely peaceful. People have rallied against police brutality and racism around the world in recent weeks. The police reform group in Cottonwood Heights called for more body cameras and a ban on chokeholds. The police support group, meanwhile, drew more than 100 people to speak against cutting police funding and vilifying officers.
