CEDAR CITY, Utah-Friday, Southern Utah University men’s basketball head coach Todd Simon confirmed he has a new addition to his program.
The Thunderbirds have signed 6-5 guard Kingsley Box, who hails from Melbourne, Australia.
Simon said he is excited about this addition as Box is “a big guard who can really shoot and score the basketball.”
Box was selected to the 2019 U-20 Victorian State team and led the squad with 15.3 points per game.
As a high schooler at Flinders College, Box averaged 35 points per game and shot 40 percent behind the arc.
Box is yet another foreigner who will be on the Thunderbirds’ roster this upcoming season.
Others include New Zealander Yuta Alok, Box’s fellow Australians Jarryd Hoppo and Jason Spurgin, Croatian national Ivan Madunic and Dutchman Kneyoue Ondaan.
