SALT LAKE CITY (Deseret News) — The Salt Lake City Police Department has launched an investigation Thursday into a possible hate crime after a man was arrested on multiple sexual misconduct charges. The Deseret News reported that 34-year-old Adam Quinn Atwood was accused of sexually assaulting a lesbian woman, who says he told her he would “fix the gay.” Atwood was arrested Wednesday for investigation of object rape, forcible sodomy, kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault and forcible sexual abuse. Police say the woman had injuries that corroborated her story. Atwood told police during his arrest that he did not rape anyone. No attorney was immediately listed for Atwood in court records.
