HEBER CITY, Utah-Caleb Barton posted 28 points and 9 rebounds on 11-18 shooting, including six 3-pointers as the South Sevier Rams smacked American Leadership Academy 71-52. Tyson Chisholm filled up the stat sheet with 11 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds in a complementary role for the Rams, who shot 65.2 percent in the second half and 53.8 percent for the game. In defeat, Brett Staheli had 22 points and 9 rebounds on 9-16 shooting for the Eagles.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Easton Wright had 12 points and made a litany of clutch plays in overtime, while Max Gurney added 12 more as the Juab Wasps downed Summit Academy 61-58 to earn a berth in the 3-A state quarterfinals Thursday at Dixie State University. Alex White added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the win for the Wasps while Jay Gilson and Isaiah Green had 20 points apiece in the loss for the Bears, with Gilson aso adding 13 rebounds. Juab next faces South Sevier Thursday at 2:30 pm in the state quarterfinals at Dixie State University.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Bruce Mitchell posted 23 points and 7 rebounds on 8-14 shooting as the South Summit Wildcats outgunned Emery 80-74 Saturday at Wasatch High School in the 3-A state play-in game. Kyson Stilson had a game-high 29 points in the loss for the Spartans.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Derek Smith netted 22 points and 10 rebounds on 10-14 shooting as the Delta Rabbits downed San Juan 82-68 at the 3-A state play-in game at Wasatch High School. Jaxon Torgerson had 25 points in the loss for the Broncos.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Cade Russell amassed 18 points and the Morgan Trojans outlasted Richfield 48-43 at the 3-A state play-in game at Wasatch High School Saturday. Keldon Anderson posted 15 point in the loss for the Wildcats. Morgan advances to the 3-A state quarterfinals at 11:10 am Thursday at Dixie State University.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Matt Nelson posted 20 points and 8 rebounds on 7-13 shooting, but selflessly fed Tanner Rasmussen for the game-winning layup in overtime as Manti outlasted Providence Hall 62-60 Saturday in the 3-A play-in game at Wasatch High School. Marcus Sherwood had 20 points and 8 rebounds on 9-15 shooting in the loss for the Patriots. Manti next faces Morgan Thursday at 11:10 am in the state quarterfinals at Dixie State University.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Cameron Hoppensteadt posted 23 points on 8-12 shooting as the Grand Red Devils overpowered Carbon 69-56 at the 3-A state play-in game at Wasatch High School Saturday. Derek Hillam had 19 points in the loss for the Dinos. Grand has advanced to the 3-A state quarterfinals Thursday at 9:30 am at Dixie State University by virtue of this victory.

HEBER CITY, Utah-Brady Arbon posted 30 points on 12-13 shooting and the Grantsville Cowboys downed Union 68-59 at the 3-A state play-in game nightcap from Wasatch High School Saturday. Grantsville shot 23-38 (60.5 percent) from the field for the game. In defeat, the Cougars were paced by Jonathan Parker’s 20 points. Grantsville next faces Grand Thursday at 9:30 am in the quarterfinals from Dixie State University.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Davis Heslington netted 17 points as the Beaver Beavers routed APA West Valley 66-34 in the 2-A play-in game at Desert Hills High School Saturday. Beaver next faces Altamont Thursday at 2:30 pm in the state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Braxton Meah stepped up with 14 points and the Layton Christian Eagles pummeled Gunnison 76-50 at Desert Hills High School in the 2-A play-in game Saturday. Wyatt Young’s game-high 18 points led the Bulldogs in the loss. Layton Christian next faces Enterprise Thursday at 12:50 pm at the Sevier Valley Center in the state quarterfinals.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Isaiah Adams led the way with 17 points as the Rowland Hall-St. Mark’s Winged Lions overpowered North Sevier 65-50 Saturday in the 2-A play-in game at Desert Hills High School. Burke Mickelsen’s 15 points led the Wolves in the loss. The Winged Lions next face Duchesne at the Sevier Valley Center Thursday at 11:10 am in the state quarterfinals.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Kade Lamborn netted 14 points while the Duchesne Eagles stymied Millard 65-40 at Desert Hills High School Saturday in the 2-A play-in game. Jaxon Wardle posted 12 points in the loss for Millard.

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Kapri Orton led the way with 12 points and the Panguitch Bobcats edged Piute 39-35 in overtime Saturday at the Region 20 tournament at Canyon View High School. Mickell Morgan’s 17 points led the Thunderbirds in defeat.

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Esther Cox netted 14 points while the Valley Buffaloes pounded Bryce Valley 55-30 at the Region 20 tournament at Canyon View High School Saturday. Brooklyn Syrett and Karleen Roundy had 8 points apiece in the loss for the Mustangs.
