3-A Football State Title Game
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Jakob Burt intercepted Juab quarterback Zac Cowan on 4th and 10 with 48 seconds left and the Morgan Trojans overpowered Cowan’s Wasps 8-0 to win the 3-A state football title Friday at Trailblazers Stadium.
The stingy Trojans limited the explosive Wasps to 156 yards of offense and only 3.1 yards per play. Cade Bowring had 78 scrimmage yards on 19 touches for Juab and Bodee Blackett added 59 yards on six touches for the Wasps in defeat.
Sloan Calder made field goals of 45 and 42 yards for Morgan, with the other Trojans’ score coming on a safety when Kollin Robertson’s snap sailed over his head as Juab attempted to punt. Trevor Jarrett had 10 carries for 48 yards to pace the Morgan offense.
This is the Trojans’ seventh all-time state title (1940, 1977, 1979, 1983, 1993, 1997, 2019).
