UPDATE:
Fire crews report 100 percent containment of the Goat Canyon Fire on Tuesday. The fire burned 1,594 acres after starting Sunday.
The Meadow Creek Fire is estimated burned 4,321 as of Wednesday morning with 45 percent containment. According to Utah Fire Info, cooler temperatures and rain on the fire Tuesday night helped crews gain some more ground.

Two fires continue to burn in central Utah as of Monday afternoon. According to the Central Utah Fire Interagency, the lightening caused Meadow Creek fire is located approximately 2 miles east of Meadow, Utah. The fire has burned over 4,150 acres and is actively burning in mixed conifer with the majority of of fire activity in the Meadow Creek drainage. Fire crews are working to secure the west and north/west perimeters of the fire. A temporary closure for the Meadow Creek fire has been issued and will remain in effect through October 1 or until rescinded. The closure is from Sand Rock Ridge road south to Meadow Creek. The Central Utah type 3 management team will be transitioning to a Type 2 incident management team Tuesday morning.
According to a Utah Wildfire tweet, afternoon winds have not developed at the Goat Canyon fire Monday. The size has been measured at almost 1,600 acres, and crews have achieved 40% containment. They also reported out of the 12 wildfires in Central Utah in the last 36 hours, all but the Goat Canyon and Meadow Creek fires have been fully suppressed by local, state and federal resources.
