A Sanpete County man is in custody after he was accused of trying to kill his step-father and brother. Oscar Manuel Garcia was allegedly involved in an altercation with the two in July at which time they both received stab wounds. Deputies wernt to a trailer in Chester on Monday, August 19 and discovered Garcia hiding in a clothes dryer. He was taken into custody along with his girlfriend, Tabitah Wiltz, who told officers Garcia wasn’t at her residence. Both appeared in Sixth District Court on Wednesday, Garcia on a first-degree felony attempted murder and second-degree felony aggravated assault charge, and Wiltz on a second-degree felony obstruction of justice charge. Garcia is scheduled for a waiver hearing on August 30.
