Utah State Football Commences Fall Practice Thursday

LOGAN, Utah-Thursday, Utah State football commenced its first fall practice of the season which featured 107 Aggies in helmets, practice jerseys and shorts.

Head coach Gary Andersen, who returned to Logan after coaching the Aggies from 2009-2012, called Thursday a “positive first day.”

Strong showings came from junior safety Cash Gilliam, who stole the ball away from a receiver on an interception and junior wide receiver/kick returner Savon Scarver, who ran away from the defense on a short swing route for a score.

Junior tight end Caleb Repp, a transfer from the University of Utah, had a pair of successful conversions on third-down pass plays.

The Aggies will commence full pads practices on August 6 and fans are invited to the last scrimmage, the football family fun day, August 17 at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium.
