A six-year-old child is being treated for critical injuries following a single-vehicle crash in Beaver County.

The Utah Highway Patrol says a woman was driving a Chevy Tahoe north on Interstate 15 late Wednesday afternoon when she encountered standing water on the roadway. The driver lost control of the SUV and it rolled into the median.

Investigators say the driver was not wearing a seat belt, and the child was not properly restrained.

The child was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital and had not regained consciousness as of Wednesday night.
