After 53 years, the lights have gone out on the Manti pageant for the last time. Saturday’s performance ended the pageant’s yearly run, and record crowds turned out to watch the final season. Over 30,000 viewed the pageant Friday night and over 20,000 made it to the Saturday night performance, bringing the total for 2019 to over 150,000 people for the 8-day run, a record in attendance for the pageant. Cast and crew members for this final season numbered over 1,100 participants, the largest group to ever participate. And while many are sad that the pageant will no longer be produced, most said they will cherish the memories they have made over the past 53 years.
