Four people from California are now in jail in Sevier County facing multiple charges after attempting fraud in Richfield Monday.
According to Richfield City Police Chief Trent Lloyd, the group was working their way up the I-15 corridor hitting Home Depots as they went. Lloyd says they were using fraudulently obtained credit cards to try and make high-end purchases.
The Home Depot knew about previous cases, so when the group came to Richfield and things looked a bit odd with their credit card information, the store called police.
Officials arrested 38-year-old John Nguyen, 33-year-old Kenny Nguyen 43-year-old Ann Nguyen and 25-year-old Michelle Le for several charges including unlawful use of a financial card, DUI, possession of methamphetamine, forgery and lying to a police officer.
Officials also found altered drivers licences and equipment to aler IDs and credit cards when they arrested them.
