The body of a missing man from Sevier County has now been recovered from Colorado.
Authorities from the Colorado Bureau of Investigations were contacted by people who found the truck of 77-year-old James Fields Friday afternoon.
Crews searched in an area near the Colorado River adjacent to mile marker 72 Interstate 70. This location is about three miles west of Parachute, CO. Landowners had observed a vehicle on their property that appeared to be stuck in mud.
Officials found Fields body several hundred yards away from his truck.
Fields was reported missing March 5 after failing to show up to a medical appointment in Provo.
According to the Sevier County Sherriff’s Office, Fields did’t take his cell phone with him, nor did he use any of his debit/credit card during the days he was missing.
Sevier County detectives have been in contact with the Colorado authorities and will be waiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The Sheriff’s Office shared condolences to the Fields Family and thanks to those who aided in the search.
