UPDATE 11 a.m.: Ephraim City Police report they now believe they know who crashed into a tree on Main Street and then fled on foot Saturday.

According to officials, the man’s boss called the police to report him after officials reached-out on social media for information.

Ephraim City Police are searching for a person of interest after a car crashed into a tree.

Officials say the man they’re seeking took off on foot after the crash.

The accident took place Saturday around 4 p.m. at 300 North Main in Ephraim.

They have looked into the license on the vehicle, but the registration had been canceled and there was no insurance.
