OGDEN, Utah-Sunday morning, Weber State football found itself as the No. 2 national seed in the FCS Playoffs, following the FCS Playoffs selection show.
The Wildcats prevailed 26-13 Saturday at Idaho State to secure their second consecutive Big Sky Conference championship. This is the first time in school history that Weber State has won back-to-back conference titles.
The top overall seed is defending national champion and perennial power North Dakota State. The No. 3 overall seed is Kennesaw State while securing the No. 4 overall seed was Weber State’s fellow Big Sky member Eastern Washington.
The Wildcats have been granted a first round bye by the selection committe and will play the winner of the Southeast Missouri State-Stony Brook game December 1 at Stewart Stadium.
Also with a first-round bye in Weber State’s bracket are the Maine Black Bears, who will play the winner of Saturday’s Jacksonville State-East Tennessee State game.
