Badgers Lose WSFL Title Game in Thatcher

(THATCHER, AZ) — November 10, 2018 — For the 5th time in a row, the Snow Badgers football team has traveled to Thatcher, AZ, and returned with a loss. This one was the most costly, as the WSFL Championship was on the line as Eastern Arizona upset #5 Snow 24-17. Snow was without the services of the nation’s leading rusher, Jaylen Warren, their best defensive player Parker Workman, and offensive lineman Blake Bedier as all three were deemed ineligible for leaving the bench during an altercation with the Pima Aztecs the week prior.

Snow quarterback Braxton Kerr had a nightmare of a game completing just 37% of his passes and throwing an interception and fumbling the ball away on the last two fourth quarter drives. Snow back-up running back Branden Ellis rushed for 116 yards, while Keashawn McCoy caught 5 passes for 101 yards. Defensively, Sione Asi recorded 6.5 tackles and 1 tackle for a loss, while Jy’quez Wright had 6.5 tackles. Snow finishes the season in 2nd place in the Western States Football league with a record of 5-2, and an overall record of 8-2 and ranked #9 in the nation. They await a possible post season bowl bid this week.
