Weber State’s Jawian Harrison Named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week

OGDEN, Utah-Late Monday, Weber State senior safety Jawian Harrison Jr. was named as the Big Sky Conference’s defensive player of the week for his contributions in the Wildcats’ upset of Eastern Washington last Saturday.

Harrison, a native of Richmond, Calif., posted a team-high nine tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss and a game-clinching interception in Weber State’s 14-6 win of the #3-ranked Eagles.

This season, Harrison is third on the squad with 33 tackles. or 6.6 per game. He also has recovered two fumbles and broken up three passes.

This is Harrison’s second conference player of the week honor, after earning his first one in 2015 as a sophomore.
