Head Of LDS Missionary Department Dies Of Brain Injury

(St. George, UT) — The man who ran the missionary department for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has died. The church says Elder W. Mark Bassett died from a traumatic brain injury while in St. George with his family. The church did not elaborate on the details of that injury. At the time of his death, the 59-year-old was the executive director of the missionary department.
