A Sanpete County man is behind bars after attempting to meet up with an undercover officer posing as a 16-year-old girl. According to the arrest statement, an officer with the Lehi Police Department was undercover as a 16-year-old girl on an online chat platform on Feb. 8. A user, later identified as Hunter Christiansen, age 26 of Manti, made contact with the account and they began to chat. Despite learning about the 16-year-old’s age, Christiansen allegedly offered to pay $100 to engage in sexual acts and offered to bring weed. The two began arranging plans to meet in person and after officers sent over a fake picture he agreed to meet. Christiansen arrived in Lehi at the planned time and was taken into custody by Lehi City Police officers. He was arrested on charges of human trafficking of a child, rape, distributing/offering a controlled substance and enticing a minor. He was booked into the Utah County Jail and is being held without bail.
