Lawmaker Seeks 2-Million-Dollars For Tyler Robinson Trial

(Orem, UT) — A Utah lawmaker is requesting two-million-dollars from the state to cover added costs tied to the upcoming Tyler Robinson trial. Robinson is accused of gunning down right-wing activist Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University last September. Representative David Shallenberger of Orem made the funding request before the Utah Legislature’s Criminal Justice Appropriations Subcommittee. Officials expect the Utah County trial to require increased security, extended jury selection, and additional defense resources.
